About The Hidden King - Neighborhood Bar

“High-end quality, quickly and unpretentiously.”

166 years ago The Hidden King was a bar, … and so it is again.

But, we’re not just a Neighborhood Bar with a mural from 1863!

We’re a cocktail bar focused on serving just the things we do really well, and as locally as possible, like products from TeaHaus, Mothfire, and SuperDuper Cold Brew.

Come let The Hidden King introduce you to something new while opening doors to the past with our historical photos curated to inspire conversations with new friends.

This space holds a unique position in the history of our community and our shared past. And that’s why The Hidden King is the perfect place for locals to bring visitors; somewhere with a sense of history and no tv’s!

The Hidden King is a hidden gem! I have walked past several times but last night my husband and I finally ventured in and are so happy we did. All of the staff are so welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and intimate. Hands down the best cold brew martini I’ve ever had-We will be back!

Really wanted to love this place. The 5 star review brought us in, but we left disappointed. Felt like we were at a coffeeshop, not a cocktail lounge. The signature gin and tonic cocktail was tasty, the Sazerac was decent, but the smoke-inspired cocktail was undrinkable (too much smoke). I will say the staff was very friendly, but overall the experience felt off.

Mark and his team are awesome. Extremely welcoming with a lot of great local knowledge. We had the Irish Coffee - amazing and delicious 😋

This place is fantastic. This is where Ann Arbor residents have to take guests. The cocktails are great, as are the nibbles. The historic photos give a very old school Ann Arbor atmosphere. Local history and cocktails, you can't go wrong. Come and see the Hidden King!

Great hidden gem! We tried gin & tonic, a mezcal cocktail, and cold brew martini - loved all of them. The chess boards are great to hang out while sipping on drinks. Great vibes, friendly staff
